Toeing a fine line between considered, honed composition and jagged improvisation, i said i’m not to be bothered runs the gamut in terms of techniques and touchstones, always moving forward while maintaining a healthy sense of space and depth. From the schizoid dub opener “.4” through to the Miami Bass-tinged atmospheres of “.01,” through to the dusty, pounding kicks and warped samples of lead single “.Sour,” the record’s emphasis on clattering polyrhythms and the spaces between each hit makes the record equally enjoyable for chin-scratchers and the jackers alike.

Expect more from the pair in coming months, as Potter’s Deflector project and de las Pozas Cc will both be dropping solo efforts, as well as their recently launched imprint Embalming Lately, which has already slotted releases from Sweat Equity heads Plebeian, Stress and Bergsonist.
