Marlon Jones My bro went deep into alt-right conspiracy-ville in the basement this year. I had to sincerely sign off from that line of communication recently this way: "Oh, ok, so you want some more people to join you on 4chan /pol/? No problem, I'm down, and here's a song for you [link to I'd rather die]. And then I read about you all, 'Jim Carrey that shit', and it just made my power-packed day. Favorite track: I'd Rather Die.

ph4nt. Saw them live on a small festival in Czech Republic & totally blew me away with the performance...this album's quite as good: Intense, abrasive vocals, sparse but raw & brutal beats, really dark lyrics...totally my cup of tea :D

about

Sweat Equity is thrilled to announce our second record with New York's own Deli Girls, the duo of Danny Orlowski and Tommi Kelly, set for release this February. Mixing together elements of No Wave, Club music, Punk and Noise, the Delis have become one of New York's most treasured hometown heroes, and one of the best live acts in the city. Coming off their 2017 release 'Evidence, 'I Don't Know How to Be Happy' pushes the band's style and delivery to a new level.

Marking an expansion of their sound explored on their first record for Sweat Equity, the DG's bring a tightened sense of dynamics and an expanded sonic palette to the record. Honed over the course of the last year and through tours of the East Coast and Europe, 'I Don't Know How to Be Happy' sees the duo experimenting with overdubs and studio processing, creating dense arrangements that translate the ferocity of the band's legendary live acts.

Granted, the blueprint remains the same: blasting arrangements on drum machine and searing synthesizer elements complemented by Orlowski's cathartic fronting, the band's raw energy and powerful lyrical content remains at the core of these tracks, dealing with police surveillance, oppressive power dynamics and social hypocrisy. Few records feel as urgent and engaged with the world of 2019 as this one, and we couldn't be happier to bring it to you, live and direct.

'I Don't Know How to Be Happy' is out February 22nd.
