Sweat Equity is thrilled to announce its final dancefloor offering of 2016, bringing you a hot 7 tracks of weapons-grade bass music from BKGD Audio, the latest project of producer Alap Momin. A former CBGB’s matinee rat, Momin’s rap crew Dälek toured the globe during the late-90’s/00’s, charting a number of releases on Mike Patton’s Ipecac Records. It was during his travels that Momin first linked up with the dudes in Rhythm and Sound, a rendez-vous that would further shape his creative progression.
This approach to composition is in full view on Fluid City, mixing together high-energy drum programming and dense arrangements of synth, vocal chops and ambience, his work flirts with the raw power of punk and noise, while always keeping the dance-floor at center stage. The result is a series of tracks that mix raw power with Strictly Rhythm's electronic heartbeat, tense dub workouts with sheer force and funk.
